Real-time PCR is a modern method of species identification, based on the amplification of DNA fragments in real time, which enables precise detection of organisms in the examined environment. The use of this technique in eDNA analysis allows for the detection of specific protected species, as well as invasive alien species (IAS), which can be a threat to the Polish and EU environment.

An important asset of this method is its ability to identify species valuable in the environment, which allows for early identification of potential environmental threats resulting from investment plans. The use of molecular analysis of environmental DNA enables the detection of protected species from malacofauna, ichthyofauna and herpetofauna.

Environmental studies, such as analysis of water samples taken from sections of rivers, lakes, reservoirs or wetlands, are carried out in our laboratory, which is an alternative to traditional, time-consuming field methods. Thanks to the use of real-time PCR, it is possible to quickly obtain results regarding the presence of species in a given area, without the need for long-term field studies.
